Obsession: Bright White

There is something about the mixture of warm weather, white clothing, and sunshine that I love. I'm working on introducing more white and pale colors into my wardrobe before summer gets here.

The guy featured in the photos is Dave Franco, the younger brother of James Franco. Ain't he cute?! :)

Again, sorry for this blogging absence lately. Still no internet at my house and work has been crazy, on top of getting the flu twice, and being out of town for work. It's killing me not being able to blog and comment you all back regularly.  I hope that I'll be back up and running soon! I'm completely lost without internet.

XOXO,
Courtney

Obsession: Wayfarers

Just realize that.

I've been obsessed with wayfarer sunglasses for years. They are all I will wear. I don't really know why. Maybe watching tons of old 80s movies (on repeat) in my teens had sometime to do with it? And The Lost Boys is my all time favorite movie, in which one of the main characters wears clubmaster wayfarers throughout the whole movie. That was probably it! :)

My love for wayfarers always grows stronger around springtime. They are permanently glued to my face in summer.

Now, let's get to the winner of the 50+ followers giveaway. I went through all your comments and fixed the entries, because some of you had entered twice within one comment. I then used a random number generator on Random.org.

THE WINNER IS...ISLABELL of a fine day for sailing! Congrats!!

Thanks for entering everyone! Next giveaway will be when we reach 100 followers! 20 more followers to go! :)

XOXO,
Courtney

Obsession: Tea Time

Vintage Tea

Pretty Vintage Tea Cup

Within this month I have developed this crazy obsession with tea. My cousin Bre, and I went to tea a few weeks back (click for post & photos) and I had my first cup. I now have a cup or two every day. It's getting out of hand! Haha. I don't like having vices, because I go overboard. Trust me, I had Cup Noodles every day for about 7 years (ages 13-20). And if I didn't I would have withdrawals, so when I traveled, they came with. Haha. It became like a drug and it was absolutely ridiculous! So I'm scared about this whole tea thing I've started. I guess it's just like people with their coffee. Which is why I have never allowed myself to try coffee! Haha.

I've been having Lipton Mixed Berry Green Tea and Lipton Bavarian Wild Berry Pyramid Black Tea. I really have no clue about tea so I just grabbed what I thought looked good. These two are alright. I want to find a good one for night time too.

Are any of you tea drinkers? What's your favorite tea or tea brand? And what kind of creme do you use? I'm so lost in the tea aisle! Haha.

XOXO,
Courtney

Obsession: A Little Romance

I am in love. In love with pretty, tranquil, and vintage inspired photographs. Photographs with soft muted colors, warm filters, natural lighting, touches of fogginess or added pops of blurred color, and that feature serene models wearing lace, ruffles, florals, and stripes. They are my endless inspiration. My goal is to achieve such perfection with my photographs.

Pretty examples:

They remind me of summer and the complete peace I feel then.

Obsession: Jake Gyllenhaal

Right now I am considering a move to California. It has rained and rained and rained for weeks here in Washington. Non-stop down pours, forceful winds, and thunder. It was raining so hard this morning that it woke me up from a dead sleep. I haven't been able to do any outfit posts because of it! The only time it stops raining for a little while is around 11 pm at night. Desperately wanting to take outfit photos, I tried taking night shots two different nights, but neither turned out how I was expecting. I think I'm going to have to give in and do some indoor shots, which I really dislike, especially because the lighting in my house is dim. I'll figure something out.

I know this isn't fashion related, but...lately, I have developed a slight crush on Mr. Gyllenhaal. Movies like Prince of Persia and Love and Other Drugs, only fuel my new obsession! Both are must sees if you like him, by the way.

Enjoy a few photos (haha):

I have to admit that when I was in junior high and high school, I wasn't a big fan of his. I always remembered him in Bubble Boy no matter what and he wasn't attractive to me at all. But my tastes have changed, obviously. Anyone else like him? Or who is your celebrity crush?

Courtney

Obsession: Target's Designer Collective

My latest obsession is Target's Go International Designer Collective. I'm sure you are already aware that Target often features amazing designs by top designers for affordable prices for a very limited time, before moving on to another collaboration. Every time I visit Target, I go immediately for their Go International section. The only problem is the pieces sell out incredibly fast, which is understandable because what woman doesn't want designer clothes that they don't have to shell out thousands for?

Which is why I am excited. Target has announced that on March 13th, this Sunday, they will be re-releasing 34 of the top selling dresses from their designer collaborations. Dresses by designers such as Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Luella, Rogan, and two of my favorites, Rodarte and Alice Temperley! Get ready everyone!! :)

Here's a sneak peek!

Dresses by Thakoon & Proenza Schouler

Tie-dye dress by Thakoon for Target $39.99 (left)
Bustier dress by Proenza Schouler for Target $44.99 (right)

Dress by Rodarte

Lace Dress by Rodarte for Target $44.99

Black and white floral print dress by Rodarte for Target $39.99

Dresses by Luella & Rogan

Plaid dress by Luella for Target $44.99
Leopard print dress by Rogan for Target $39.99

That's five years worth of best selling dresses! I can't wait to see the others! Now that I think about it, this might be bad. Very bad. I have a thing for dresses. Must control shopping addiction! :D

Dresses will be available in Target stores and at Target.com on March 13th.

Courtney

Inspiration - Photography Lust

I really love this photo of Taylor Swift from the December issue of Allure. She looks fierce and sexy. And that berry lip-color looks great on her. I like the vintage feel of the photo. Allure creative director Paul Cavaco explained he was going for a 1970s look and had been inspired by Cacharel fragrance ads by Sarah Moon from the late '70s.

Inspiration - Photography Lust

I just got my newest issue of Marie Claire in the mail a few days ago. I was looking through it during my downtime at school when I got to the eight page photoshoot with Emma Roberts...and my heart sank. Pathetically, I felt sad that she got to be featured in such beautiful photographs. Haha. I have a weakness for gorgeous photos and my lifetime desire to be a model doesn't help my case. Lol. Guy Aroch (photographer of the shoot), I love you. Haha. I think he's a new favorite of mine now.

Here's the works of art themselves:

See what I'm talking about? Anybody else a little jealous? =D

Courtney
